We are currently searching for an exceptional Director, Advanced Manufacturing to join our team in Corona, CA. An American icon, Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence extending beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument, it's a cultural symbol that resonates globally. The Director, Advanced Manufacturing will drive strategic Automation and New Finishes Development in support for Operations, Product Development, R&D and NPI by coordinating new technology planning, development and execution that supports the 3-year Product Plan and both Corona and Ensenada factory productivity. Additionally, this position will lead best practices and standardization efforts. About the Job:

  • Map out and drive strategic work to lead collaboration efforts with Product Development, R&D and Operations to develop and maintain a 3-year Technology Roadmap that mirrors the Product Roadmap
  • Integrates future product specifications and manufacturing system requirements based on operational goals and constraints
  • Actively explores manufacturing technologies, targets and executes technology adoption projects that enable the factory to reach productivity targets during new product introduction phases
  • Liaise with factory functions, R&D, and Product Development to facilitate future restricted new product creation and prototyping
  • Leads, tracks and reports on new finishes development on Corona USA and Ensenada MX factories
  • Key point of contact for day-to-day automation and future factory technology status, project development and execution
  • Plan and execute inter-factory technology standardization and automation deployment
  • Explore opportunities for factory core process improvements for all FMIC product lines operating in FMIC-owned factories What You Need:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred
    • Demonstrated results in automation projects execution in a manufacturing environment
    • 5+ years in a similar role
    • Knowledgeable about automotive paint finishing formulations and systems, and wood management
    • Working knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulation, and Lean MFG principles
    • Guitar/bass player preferable, with intrinsic knowledge of guitars and related products
    • Knowledge of the FENDER brand and its products and history
    • Excellent telephone/email communication and customer service skills
