Job Description Pacific--is seeking a Director of Materials & Quality Assurance to join their team. Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, the Director of Materials & Quality Assurance is responsible for procurement, supply chain planning, warehouse & inventory management, and overall quality control in the build and installation/support of filling & capping machinery and related equipment, located in Corona, California. Materials & Warehouse Management

  • Manage procurement, planning, inventory, shipping and receiving
  • Drive material savings to achieve strategic objectives
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and reconcile variances. Lead annual physical inventory
  • Develop policies and procedures for materials & warehouse departments
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best price, quality & delivery
  • Manage material requirements planning and implement MRP in current ERP system
  • Leverage ERP to optimize planning, procurement, and warehouse management
  • Execute aftermarket fulfillment to achieve monthly revenue targets
  • Manage shipping & receiving activities, including facilitating RMA processing
  • Manage inventory planning & controls, including but not limited to: Developing stocking & replenishment strategies, setting safety stock, min/max and re-order point parameters, and define and establish inventory classifications
  • Maintain operating budgets and target cost objectives for direct and indirect spend
  • Set up and optimize vendor managed inventory
  • Establish processes for material handling and lean material control
  • Develop procedures to optimize planning process and prioritize/schedule shop orders
  • Improve shipping accuracy and quality to reduce RMA's
  • Conduct make vs buy decisions to optimize absorption and lower cost & lead times
  • Plan, develop and implement inventory control and job order procedures
  • Mentor and provide training to maintain department expertise
  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Manage materials & warehouse team including hiring and training
  • Provide work assignments, performance management and conflict resolution
  • Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement to improve planning process
  • Facilitate team building and collaboration
  • Drive initiatives to accelerate team performance
  • Develop best practices for materials management and material control
  • Develop best practices for lean materials utilizing lean methodologies Quality Assurance
    • Establish process for receiving inspection to improve quality control
    • Establish process for correction actions to improve product or service quality
    • Process warranty claims with external & internal suppliers
    • Review scrap and defects to determine root cause
    • Drive quality across all departments through SQDCP process
    • Develop a quality management system that fits Pacific's business model
    • Create quality measurements to track improvement in products
    • Execute quality improvement testing and activities
    • Develop quality assurance standards and company processes
    • Create reports documenting errors and issues for fixing
    • Work closely with Engineering to improve existing products
    • Maintain standards for production reliability and performance
    • Identifying and resolving workflow and production issues
    • Ensuring that standards and safety regulations are observed
    • Creating training materials and operating manuals Systems Tools
      • Implement Smartsheets or equivalent operations management tools
      • Develop digitized shortage report
      • Develop future state best practices such as: Bar-coding, Customer portal, QR coding
      • Develop aftermarket forecasting tools Requirements
        • +7 years' experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain management in a design-to-build environment.
        • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering or Supply Chain and equivalent work experience.
        • Engineering understanding of machined and fabricated parts as well as understanding of machinery and electrical assembly practices.
        • Strong negotiator and experience in procurement procedures, planning, and inventory management.
        • Familiarization of lean practices and methodologies.
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
        • Strong computer skills (MS Office - Word, Excel) with emphasis in spreadsheet development and ERP functionality. Info/Syteline experience desired
        • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role.
        • Results-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, professional etiquette, customer-service-oriented with the demonstrated ability to lead, coach and inspire others to the same behaviors.
        • Analytical thinker and passion for root-cause problem solving.
        • Works effectively, collaboratively, and respectfully in a team environment. Comfortable in cross-functional roles.
        • Able to interpret engineering drawings
        • Successful experience leading teams
