Job Description:

The Claims Manager manages the operations of the claims department to meet operational, financial, and service requirements. The Manager reviews, does research, process claims and disposals with copackers for all damages. This position requires an individual who can multi-task, be organized, work in a fast-paced environment and who can seamlessly transition to the day-to-day demands and changes of the Inventory Control Department. This person has the ability to lead a team of 9-10 people. Essential Job Functions:

  • Receive and log claims received in Claims Log and Claims portal once activated
  • Review claims for discrepancies submitted by customer, such as incorrect PO# product delivered under, etc
  • Assist with follow up on claims with IC, Shipper, and Carrier if needed
  • Ensure QC releases/holds are being processed timely to avoid delays with customer orders.
  • Work with Packaging & Damages team to ensure Freight, Plant, Quality and/or Supplier claims are being generated and associated with customer claims, as needed to recoup losses. Provide CS Claim documentation and claim # to Damages for cross reference for tracking purposes
  • File completed claim packets and box/send to storage as needed
  • Ensure log is up to date with current notes regarding status of all outstanding claims
  • Review and prepare SLOB report to assess inventory risk.
  • Prepare Block report to review with Sr. Inventory Manager for Quarterly Financial Reserves.
  • Ensure CSR's & customers are using the most current claim form and completing all required sections appropriately
  • Develop and implement programs that ensure highest level of quality as the department scales to meet growing claims activity
  • Presents analysis, reporting and corrective actions to address any performance gaps
  • Supporting and promoting process improvement methodologies and best practices that enhance claims service and increase employee satisfaction and engagement
  • Works with Quality Manager, Claims Supervisors and under the direction of the Inventory Control Manager to review reports to ensure accurate and timely completion of work projects
  • Participate in annual/semi-annual reviews
  • Participates in organization decision making by attending meetings and actively participates in discussions
  • Define and implement the process of developing impactful and consumer relevant claims Position Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 5 years supply chain management and/or manufacturing experience.
    • Demonstrated success in exceeding customer expectations while both managing and reducing cost with a complex business entity or unit.
    • Managerial/supervisor experience (leading a team).
    • Microsoft suite of applications.
    • SAP ECC knowledge and understanding
    • Understanding of special challenges presented by a complex supply chain in a dynamic organization, coupled with the ability to direct, motivate, and develop subordinates in that type of environment.
    • Thorough understanding of the beverage industry and its unique features and challenges, or at least CPG industry experience; preferably with a strong manufacturing background.
    • Possession of superior analytical and organizational skills; data-driven and process oriented
    • Possession of superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Handle pressure, able to multi-task and quickly determine priorities amid competing interests; accountable
    • Ability to understand and utilize data provided by Company and by industry sources toward achieving success.
    • Ability to utilize appropriate technology toward predicting, tracking, and reporting business and functional performance.
    • Thorough understanding of Company policies, practices, and procedures as these relate to business unit performance.
    • Ability to perform physical activities that may be required of the position, including, but not limited to, the ability to travel on both day and overnight trips via both private and public transportation; the ability to conduct inspections of product and facilities; and the ability to perform tasks outside of an office environment.
