Description:The Manager of Global Medical Affairs, Independent
Medical Education (IME) Grants will be responsible for the
successful development and management of the global medical
education grant program for assigned therapeutic areas (Tas). The
position will support delivery of impactful medical education that
enhances patient care by improving Healthcare Professionals'
ability to manage the disease. Primary responsibilities include
managing annual budgets and evaluating incoming medical education
grant requests for assigned therapeutic areas. Essential
Functions
- Works in collaboration with medical affairs colleagues to
develop medical education objectives and medical education plan for
assigned TA(s)
- Manages educational grant budget across assigned TA(s) and
report accruals to accounting on a monthly basis
- Leads and work cross functionally with internal and external
colleagues including medical communications, legal, compliance,
finance, medical science liaisons, etc.
- Manages and evaluate incoming grant requests for assigned TA(s)
and assess for appropriateness and compliance with Jazz criteria,
policies and procedures
- Tracks outcomes reports from supported programs in assigned
TA(s)
- Identifies appropriate review committee for incoming medical
education grant requests
- Identifies programs to be included on monthly Educational Grant
Review Committee (EGRC) agenda for assigned TA(s), reviews
materials submitted by requestors for presentation to the EGRC, and
finalizes materials for EGRC presentation
- Leads EGRC meetings for assigned TA(s)
- Regularly communicates with grant requestors regarding status,
payment, program materials and outcomes of supported events
- Reviews submitted reconciliations for assigned TA(s)
- Participates in professional meetings and alliances to identify
industry trends and evaluate the impact of regulatory and policy
decisions on medical education grants
- Prepares reports and presentations for use by management and
other internal departments
- Responds to reported problems and works with a diverse team of
internal and external stakeholders to identify resolutions
- Ensures overall compliance and quality of IME programs
- Provides timely responses to multiple stakeholders and adheres
to established policies, procedures and systems
- Provides feedback regarding the Educational Grant Management
System provider to continuously improve and enhance system
performance
- Monitor key IME programs and provide feedback to medical
affairs team
- Participates in training and understands policies from global
compliance to ensure supported educational programs are consistent
with guidelines (e.g., ACCME, EACME, OIG, FDA, ABPI, EFPIA)Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum of 3 years Pharmaceutical Company experience required
or equivalent experience working within the Medical Education
industry (e.g., Medical Education Company, outsource provider,
etc.).
- Understanding of medical, compliance, FDA and regulatory
guidelines (e.g PhRMA guidelines, OIG, AMA, ACCME, EACME, Sunshine
Act, etc.) is required
- Knowledge of CME/CE outcomes assessment models (e.g, Moore's
levels) is required
- Knowledge of instructional design principles as they pertain to
IME is preferred
- Experience with educational grant management systems (e.g
Polaris, Visiontracker) is required
- Experience working with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Smartsheets)
is required
- Experience managing vendors is required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills are
required
- Demonstrated expertise in development and execution of medical
education strategies is desired
- Must be able to develop and maintain good working relationships
with internal departments and external contactsRequired/Preferred
Education and Licenses
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a health-related
field (e.g., public health, nursing, biology, other science or

strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that
are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base
pay range is $112,000-$168,000. Individual compensation paid within
this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications,
skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent
factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation
aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within
the established pay framework and our Total Compensation
philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence
individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a
regular basis. At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your
total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be
eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive
compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms
of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation
Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with
Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan. The successful candidate
