To enhance guest and employee experiences, we are seeking a Senior Security & Incident Manager.Role Summary:The Senior Security & Incident Manager oversees all security, emergency response, and incident planning at LEGOLAND California Resort. This senior operational role focuses on protecting guests, staff, and property while maintaining a positive guest experience. Responsibilities include managing 24/7 security coverage, medical response teams, and incident management systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.This role requires calm, decisive leadership in high-pressure situations and a proactive approach to risk and emergency planning. You will lead multi-agency collaboration on emergency preparedness, including large-scale drills like Mass Casualty Incidents (MCI). You will serve as the Resort's primary liaison with local police, fire, and EMS, representing the Resort in emergency planning groups and safety forums.You will also shape the Resort's safety culture by developing team capabilities, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining a visible, reassuring presence to enhance guest and employee confidence. This role is key to ensuring LEGOLAND California is operationally safe and recognized as a responsible community partner.Emergency Operations

  • Lead the design, implementation, and review of emergency protocols, including evacuations and crisis management.
  • Serve as Crisis Coordinator during emergencies, making high-stakes decisions to protect lives and property.
  • Plan and lead emergency drills, including MCI scenarios, with internal teams and local emergency services.
  • Ensure fire alarms, public address systems, access control, and CCTV are maintained and operational.
  • Facilitate joint preparedness exercises with emergency agencies.Incident Management
    • Maintain incident reporting systems, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
    • Partner with law enforcement and emergency agencies during and after incidents.
    • Conduct debriefs post-incident to capture lessons learned and improve protocols.
    • Support investigations and implement follow-up actions.
    • Represent the Resort in inter-agency forums and safety committees.
    • Act as Security, Incident, and Resort Duty Manager on a rotating basis during live incidents or after-hours.Team Leadership and Development
      • Lead, develop, and motivate security, emergency response, and medical teams.
      • Implement regular training, including emergency scenarios and community exercises.
      • Identify and develop departmental leaders and ensure shift coverage.
      • Drive performance and model calm leadership under pressure.Guest Safety and Experience
        • Maintain a visible presence to reassure guests and staff.
        • Lead safety communications during incidents and recovery.
        • Coordinate with PR and Guest Services for consistent messaging.
        • Train staff on guest interaction standards during crises.
        • Manage external perceptions of safety with media and emergency partners.
        • Oversee the 'Resort 1' Duty program and promote a 'Guest Obsessed' culture.Strategic Planning
          • Build relationships with local emergency agencies and officials.
          • Represent LEGOLAND as a safety leader in the community.
          • Identify improvements through benchmarking and partnerships.
          • Lead community-focused safety initiatives.
          • Develop long-term plans for security infrastructure and workforce capabilities based on data and trends.Health & Safety
            • Ensure compliance with Merlin's HSS Policy and applicable laws.
            • Prepare for audits and inspections.
            • Lead incident investigations and documentation.
            • Provide expertise on risk assessments and safety policies.
            • Coordinate with regulators and licensing bodies.Qualifications & ExperienceSkills & Competencies
              • Proven Leadership: Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments, preferably within emergency services or business continuity.
              • Strategic Safety Planning: Ability to develop and implement long-term safety strategies aligned with business and regulatory standards.
              • Crisis and Incident Management: Experience managing complex incidents and coordinating with external agencies.
              • Operational Effectiveness: Track record of improving team performance and operational standards.
              • Stakeholder Communication: Strong communication skills to engage with leaders, teams, and partners.
              • Community and Agency Collaboration: Skilled at building relationships with law enforcement and emergency services.
              • Cultural and Situational Awareness: Ability to operate effectively across diverse teams and contexts, with a guest-first mindset.
              • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for data-driven decisions.
