Year, is seeking a Director of Sustainability. In this position,
you'll lead the company's efforts in promoting and implementing
sustainable practices in the built environment. As part of a
collaborative culture, you'll work alongside project design teams
and clients to advise on sustainable strategies and goals, ensuring
that our projects align with the highest standards of environmental
responsibility. About the Firm: With over 30 years of practice,
this 160-person-firm is nationally recognized in programming,
planning design for the healthcare, science & technology, higher
education, K-12, and civic sectors. The firm's expertise includes
transformative projects for schools of medicine and the health
professions, advanced research and teaching laboratories,
leading-edge museums and civic landmarks, tech-offices, and
innovative clinical facilities on higher ed, healthcare, and urban
campuses. The team is actively seeking talented Architects with a

projects, you'd be a great fit! Your Responsibilities: Establishing
Sustainable Design Goals: Lead the development of sustainable
design objectives for projects and implement metrics to measure
progress. Carbon Sequestration and Mitigation: Bring your knowledge
of carbon sequestration and mitigation strategies to enhance
project sustainability. Integration with Design Teams: Foster
seamless communication and integration of sustainability strategies
within project design teams. Enhancing Energy Efficiency: Utilize
cutting-edge tools and resources to maximize energy efficiency and
resilience in our projects. Educational Outreach: Conduct engaging
training sessions and presentations to raise awareness of
sustainability best practices both internally and externally.
Third-Party Certification Support: Guide project teams in pursuing
third-party certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and others,
ensuring quality control of certification submissions.
Qualifications: Minimum 8 years of experience in architecture,
construction, or engineering. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in
Architecture, Environmental Studies, or Natural Sciences. Proven
adaptability, initiative, and curiosity. Strong organizational and
time management skills. Excellent written, graphic, and verbal
communication abilities. Advanced strategic thinking and
problem-solving skills. Track record of developing compelling
presentations and materials. Ability to work independently and
collaboratively. Proficiency in green building industry standards
and certification processes. Willingness to travel as needed. This
position is preferably based in Los Angeles, CA, but candidates may
also be considered for the San Diego, CA office. If located in San
Diego, the ideal candidate should be willing to travel to the Los
Angeles headquarters as needed. If you are passionate about making
