Job Description:

A company is looking for a Senior Data Engineer, Health & Bioinformatics.
Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and implement data systems to support ML and AI models for health insurance clients while ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations
Develop tools for extracting, processing, and profiling diverse healthcare data sources, including EHRs and genomic data
Collaborate with data scientists to transform health-related and bioinformatics data into modeling-ready formats, ensuring data quality and integrity

Required Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative discipline with 7+ years of experience in health-related data
Subject matter expertise in health and bioinformatics data, with a strong understanding of processing medical information
Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7) and healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA)
Proficiency in Python and SQL in a professional setting
Hands-on experience with big data tools like Apache Spark, DataBricks, or Snowflake
