This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday with the occasional Saturday. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic in Rancho Bernardo. What you'll do: - This is a 1:1 position with a full time provider - Administering vaccines to infants through adolescents - Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures - Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols - Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment - Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice - Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person - Collecting patient data in person and by phone - Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review - Administering medications specifically directed by the physician - Scheduling of appointments and procedures - Complete and accurate message taking - Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction - Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications - Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics - Insurance verifications Required Qualifications: - Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman - BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Qualifications: - 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant - Pediatrics experience - Experience with vaccine administration At Scripps Health, you will experience the pride, support and respect of an organization that has been repeatedly recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 Places to Work. Position Pay Range: $25.95-$32.56/hour
