X and YouTube. Job Description We seek a Senior Scientist II,
Analytical Development to join an experienced, fast-paced and
collaborative team. This position will be primarily responsible for
guiding the biophysical analytical strategy and developing novel
analytical methods for characterizing AbbVies mRNA-based targeted
lipid nanoparticles (tLNPs) pipeline. This role will focus on
developing novel biophysical methods for characterizing mRNA,
lipids, and plasmids. Working collaboratively across discovery
research, this position will develop novel characterization methods
to support process/product understanding, expansion of the
mRNA/tLNP platform and pipeline, and build structure-activity
relationships. Responsibilities & Duties: Develop novel biophysical
methods to characterize mRNA drug substance, including but not
limited to LC, CE, LC-MS, MALLS, mass photometry, and plate-based
assays Improve plasmid characterization and build relationships to
mRNA quality Support product characterization for tLNP
platform/formulation development and lead candidate selection Lead
mass-spec characterization of oligonucleotides, proteins, and
lipids Support characterization of lipid content and related
impurities Support implementation of automation/high throughput
(HTP) workflows and in-process analytical methods for routine and
non-routine testing Represent functional area in cross-functional
pipeline and technology development teams Support method transfer
and qualifications as needed Draft technical reports and documents
as needed Qualifications Generally met with a PhD with 4 years
related experience, Masters with 10 years experience, or Bachelors
with 12 years of experience Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry,
Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering or related field with proven
technical and leadership track record developing analytical
characterization methods for biologics (e.g. antibodies, mRNA, etc)
is required Expertise with LC-MS is required Experience developing
analytical methods for oligonucleotides (e.g. LC, CE, MS, MALLS,
etc) and lipids is required. Experience with plasmid
characterization is strongly preferred Experience with method
transfer and qualification is preferred Strong proficiency
authoring and reviewing technical reports Experience with stability
and comparability studies is preferred Strong communication skills,
both written and verbal, with a demonstrated capacity to thrive in
collaborative, team-driven environments. Additional Information
