Senior HR Business Partner, West Coast will provide support to our
business groups across our 24/7 matrixed organization,
collaborating with the HR Manager at Rapid East, and supporting our
growing Western US presence. The HR BP will lead and oversee many
customary functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department including
Leave Management, Benefits, Employee Relations, Employee Wellness,
and the implementation of Company policies and practices.
Responsible for creating and administering HR initiatives that
align business objectives throughout the Company, most directly
related to our west coast operations. Additionally, the position
cultivates partnerships across HR functions to deliver value-added
service and guidance to management and employees that reflects the
strategic goals of the organization.
Partner with Executive Leadership team to align HR objectives,
short and long term, with company-wide objectives in collaboration
with VP of Human Resources.
Identify ways to develop and improve policies and procedures,
assist with development and implementation of initiatives,
procedures, and protocols that align our workforce with the
strategic goals of the Company.
Provide department overview of training/onboarding protocols for
new organization staff.
Coach and mentor at supervisory, management and director levels on
Company disciplinary processes and providing guidance on employment
Promote professionalism in communication and build trust across all
levels of the organization as a representative/champion of HR
through meetings, written communications, and daily interactions
with team members at every level.
Assess needs and performance gaps from which effective training and
development opportunities are provided that meet the organization's
needs, in collaboration with VP of Human Resources.
Ensure that an effective performance management program is in place
and utilized to drive a high performing culture.
Ensure compliance with labor law and legislative
Engage in professional development initiatives through membership
and participation in regional HR and business advocacy
Promote enthusiasm and encourage optimal participation in HR
Partner and support HR team, management, and other staff in
response to complex, specialized, and sensitive questions/issues;
may be required to administer and execute customary tasks under
delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations,
investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and processing
Provide guidance to department managers and directors in developing
job descriptions that are consistent with Company standards and
appropriately convey clear expectations.
Effectively manage employee relations issues.
Assess existing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with
legal standards; development of additional policies and procedures
as needed to support Company mission, objectives, and employee
Provide advice and direction regarding payroll/HR & Kronos
Oversee, and at times, administer unemployment claims, attending
unemployment hearings on behalf of the Company, as needed.
Remain up to date with current Federal, NYS, CA, and NV employment
Create reports as requested by the VP of Human Resources, Chief
Financial Officer, and President.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business,
Organizational Development or related study or four years of
additional HR experience beyond the below required experience
Minimum five years of experience in progressively senior-level
Human Resource positions
Expertise in HR principles and practices
Advanced knowledge of various employment laws
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and prioritize
workload accordingly while leading a team
SHRM or PHR Certificate
Consulting and conflict resolution skills
Strong understanding of state and federal requirements and
