In this role, you will be responsible for bringing industry best practices to database management. You will provide support in our Infrastructure (network /server). You will be responsible for the organization's performance reliability and scalability current data center infrastructure environment. Provide direction and support in using data center technology to ensure system accuracy, efficiency, and control. What You Will Do: Own the Data Base Architecture and Environment Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any unplanned downtime. Database monitoring, integration, replication, notification, analysis, tuning, problem resolution, reporting, and production support Perform DB server software upgrades; service packs and versions including testing and evaluation of patching strategies Create primary database storage structures, database objects, migration scripts to modify structures and objects Design efficient database architecture and maintain performance and tuning Provide direction to programmers and analysts as required to affect changes to database management systems Optimize database performance, security, and user access Provide technical and functional On-Call support Requirements What You Will Bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar field. Minimum 5 years of experience with enterprise relational database management systems Ability to identify, recommend, drive, and "own" projects and initiatives Attention to detail and quality of work High level of personal accountability for the continuity and improvement of the organizations database environments, data, and processes Self-motivation with a strong work ethic Superior troubleshooting skills, inquisitiveness, & the ability to preemptively resolve problems Superior MySQL/stored function/procedure skills Query optimization, performance tuning Define hardware and software performance standards. Provide operational readiness through the engineering, planning, coordination, and execution of performance and tuning analysis, systems support, incident and problem resolution, software installation, and upgrades.
