JOB LOCATION: 2260 E. Imperial Hwy, El Segundo, CA 90245 (and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home)

DUTIES: DIRECTV, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineering in El Segundo, CA (and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home ) to build cutting-edge scalable, cloud solutions for our video streaming platform that delivers over 100,000 on-demand titles to our DirecTV customer. Contribute to the design, development, and support of software for cloud-based video content management and processing systems. Streamline and scale content delivery systems that serve video-on-demand entertainment to set-top boxes, TVs, mobiles, and other streaming devices across the country. Work closely with our Discovery, Metadata, and other key engineering teams across the DirecTV platform. Develop world-class cloud solutions at scale and create efficient and high-quality software solutions to serve customer needs. Build resilient and scalable microservices/applications for video package orchestration and processing. Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, and fellow team members to design and architect robust solutions to fulfill business goals. Have end-to-end ownership of services, from ideation to production deployment and performance monitoring. Develop and automate unit tests, code analyzers, security scans, software deployments, automated tests, and reports for services. Enforce quality standards through peer code review and automated testing. Host demo presentations of POCs and development progress to peers and management. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and standards. Work with micro services and container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes. Work with databases: SQL, NoSQL and work on cloud based serverless technologies. Utilize Java, GoLang or other object-oriented languages. Utilize software configuration management, software release principles and communication protocols: HTTPS, SOAP, REST. Work with scripting languages: Python, Shell, Perl and Jenkins, Spinnaker, or other CI orchestration software. Work in Linux environments on premise and in the cloud. Utilize technical practices, architectures, and cultural norms that underpin DevOps success. Utilize cloud computing services (AWS) and write automation for cloud platforms.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation working with micro services and container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes; working with databases: SQL, NoSQL and working on cloud based serverless technologies; utilizing Java, GoLang or other object-oriented languages; utilizing software configuration management, software release principles and communication protocols: HTTPS, SOAP, REST; working with scripting languages: Python, Shell, Perl and Jenkins, Spinnaker, or other CI orchestration software; working in Linux environments on premise and in the cloud; utilizing technical practices, architectures, and cultural norms that underpin DevOps success; and utilizing cloud computing services (AWS) and writing automation for cloud platforms.
