Job Description Job Description Senior Production Buyer MAG INSTRUMENT, INC., the manufacturer of the Mag-Lite ® flashlight, has an immediate opening for a self-motivated individual to work as a Senior Production Buyer. We are looking for a highly skilled professional to join our growing and future oriented team located in Ontario, California. Summary/Objective Manage sourcing and buying activities across a wide range of commodities, including but not limited to raw materials and MRO. Essential Duties: · Perform purchasing tasks, for assigned commodities or departments, frequently for repeat orders or releases against master, annual or other purchase contracts. · Responsible for identifying and developing strategic sourcing initiatives for primary and secondary sources of supply through competitive bidding procedures, and by coordinating supplier qualification efforts. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing requirements, end use of products, and timely, quality procurement requirements. · Analyze, evaluate and negotiate contracts to secure favorable pricing, delivery, terms and conditions. · Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical sketches, and specifications to align sourcing activities with supplier capabilities. · Follow up on expected delivery dates. · Resolve invoice and payment issues. · Reconcile all quality issues and drive root cause solutions with Corrective Actions generated. · Capability to work with minimal supervision. · Maintain compliance within company standards. · Assist lower-level Buyers, as needed. Qualifications: · Ideal candidate must have 3 – 5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. · Excellent communication and organizational skills · Bachelor’s Degree, preferred. · MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) · AS400 Experience a plus Qualified candidates can mail, fax, or e-mail (in MSWord format) their resume.
