Job Description:
Overview of the Position: The Apprentice Lead Technician works
with Department Lead(s), and Supervisor to direct a team of
technicians as assigned to accomplish day-to-day shop production
requirements accurately and efficiently in accordance with
established PHSMWA and customer procedures and policies, performing
the following duties personally or through subordinates. The
Apprentice Lead Technician has the responsibility and authority to
perform assigned tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with Departmental Supervisor & Lead to
oversee the work of a group of technicians accomplishing all
component maintenance functions within a department to include
testing, disassembly, cleaning, trouble-shooting, evaluations and
repairs, which complies with approved documentation.
- Work towards acquiring Certified Repairman, and Return to
Service certifications
- Mirroring Lead and Supervisor daily to acquire a higher
understanding of the business needs
- Ensure all tooling, test equipment, and machinery are adequate
for required functions and if not complete, submit and follow
through on all necessary request forms.
- Ensure all department personnel are fully trained and capable
to accomplish all maintenance functions within the department.
- Maintain PHSMWA units and ensure they are being properly
addressed within current time frames and cost perspective.
- Perform all tasks in a manner that complies with PHSMWA safety
and employee policies.
- Ensuring training records are created as training has been
completed.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized department.
- Other duties as assigned. Other Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:
- Technical Ability - Minimum of 2 years experience. Be familiar
with 14 CFR 145 requirements.

- Computer Skills: Basic skills in use of Microsoft Word, Excel,
Must be computer literate with capability to operate Office Suite.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; 2
years of related experience or some combination of education and
experience is possible depending on experience. Experience in
Aviation field preferred. Other Qualifications: The requirements

Language Skills: Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend written
instruction in the English language. Additional documents such as
safety rules and procedure manuals as required. The ability to
utilize inspection type measuring tools. Must be able to apply
common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and
divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common
sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical
Demands and Work Environment : The physical demands described here

successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and
arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 50
pounds.
- Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle,
or feel.

- Works in moderate noise levels.
