To accommodate this, we are increasing our focus on software-defined infrastructure and adopting new methods and technologies.To support this rapid change, our global teams need an architect to provide technical oversight, thought leadership, serve as an example for our rising stars, and act as a conduit of information to leaders in other regions. For the right candidate, this position offers high visibility, access to leadership and senior technical staff, a broad scope of technical responsibilities, and the opportunity to shape the skills of other engineers. This role also reflects a strategic investment in the EMEA region; your success will directly impact the growth of the teams you support.What you will do:

• Provide technical oversight on implementations within the Systems Engineering teams.
• Drive impactful technical changes across the organization.
• Mentor and develop the skills of other Systems Engineers.
• Create and implement pragmatic processes to enable engineering teams to develop appropriate architectures.
• Break down large projects into manageable tasks for less experienced engineers.
• Define, document, and review infrastructure and software architectures for new systems.
• Identify, evaluate, and advocate for strategic technologies and approaches, including proposing skills training.
• Get hands-on with implementations when necessary.Qualifications:Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, including using AI tools, automating workflows, analyzing insights, or exploring AI's industry impact.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• Skill in engaging at appropriate levels-broad or deep-depending on the situation.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, from junior staff to senior leadership.
• Experience guiding architectural decisions and resolving disputes.
• Understanding of how software components relate and evolve over time.
• Proven ability to coordinate and lead significant efforts independently.
• Rigorous problem modeling and validation skills.
• Comfortable collaborating with teams in the Pacific time zone.
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure concepts: IP networking, storage, load balancers, etc.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, virtualization, containers, etc.
• Understanding of internet protocols like DNS, LDAP, NTP, SMTP, HTTP.
• Integrity and alignment with ServiceNow's values.Additional qualifications include:
  • Experience in a SaaS environment, ideally mid-scale rather than hyperscale.
  • Proficiency in coding with languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Ruby.Basic Qualifications:
