Job Description:
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director/Manager of Engineering
this position performs a variety of duties in the repair,
servicing, and general maintenance of the hospital physical plant
and equipment. Carries out work orders for two facilities provided
by the Director of the department. Reports to the appropriate
management levels all incidents, progress reports, and equipment
failures that pertain to the Hospital as a whole. Plans and directs
assigned job tasks.QualificationsESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLSHands
on experience in hospital or related equipment including
responsibility of performing preventive and corrective maintenance
on the hospital building, equipment, plant operations critical
equipment and grounds equipment. Has the responsibility to perform
and record repairs on systems that may include but not limited to
plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building infrastructure including
but not limited to fire life safety equipment and nurse call.
Ability to perform daily rounds and follow-up on discrepancies,
order material or supplies as needed.Ability to read and interpret
blueprints/building plans.Competent in the use of HVAC test
equipment.Ability to work independently without supervision.Perform
skilled duties including painting, patching, changing toilets and
faucets, replacing electrical outlets, ceiling tiles and light
bulbs. Maintain a clean work environment during repairs. Ability to
use computers, tablets and building management systems.Other duties
as assigned by leadershipAbility to read schematics and drawings.
(redlining any discrepancies)MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCEAt least 7
years working experience in commercial HVAC.Advanced knowledge of
hand and power tools.Intermediate computer skills for Microsoft
office, email and SharePoint accessAbility to develop operational
procedures on equipmentMINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONHigh school
diploma.Trade or vocational experience recommended.REQUIRED
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONSCurrent California driver's
license.Required at least two of the following; licensed or
certified in HVAC, refrigerant recovery, refrigeration, California
MECH certification by CSHE ((California Society for Healthcare
Engineering), Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager Certificate
by AHA (American Hospital Association); or recognized National
Union current designation or "Journeyman".
