Construction industry experience a plus . At least 1 year in Fire Sprinkler Industry to Senior level position available. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Capable of handling multiple tasks with simultaneous deadlines. Job Descriptions: Under the supervision of the Fire Protection Department, the CAD Designer will prepare residential Single Family NFPA 13D & Multifamily 13R and 13 sprinkler systems fire protection construction documents for various projects. Education & Experience: High school education/College and experience in AutoCAD 1 year of Fire Sprinkler Design required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in AutoCAD Construction knowledge and able to read Architectural, Plumbing, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical & S tructur al plans. General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook , Bluebeam General knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies a plus Thorough knowledge of NFPA, CBC, CRC, CFC codes, and AHJ requirementsDuties and Responsibilities: Plan Submittals & Permits Ability to coordinate plans and specifications with field installers to clarify and incorporate required changes.Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler systems. Seismic bracingCoordinate design with other building tradesProduce material listings.Coordination with PMs and Field Supers Proficient in either, HydraCad or AutoSprinkAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Field walks if necessary (10%)A ssist in the development of design approaches and concepts on assigned projects. Ensure that all drawings are prepared with accuracy, neatness, and prior to project deadline. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with coworkers and employees. Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance. Perform other duties, as assigned.
