Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.Job MissionAs an Electronics Architect, you will lead the definition, specification and validation of highly reliable electronics for EUV light sources. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Mechanical, Mechatronics, Software) and work with other architects and engineering groups to outline and create Electrical Systems as well as associated engineering documentation. You will contribute to roadmap planning, promote innovation and incorporate relevant new technologies and methodologies. You will also provide guidance to the team with different technologies including cPCI, PCIe, PLC, EtherCAT, Ethernet, differential signaling, wideband circuits; high speed embedded computing, distributed signal acquisition and signal integrity in a noisy environment, Xilinx with Soc. As an architect you will assist management with schedule and project planning activities.This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. - 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.Job DescriptionDefine, specify and oversee subsystems to meet the overall system specifications, costs and project planning boundaries.Collaborate with other disciplines and suppliers to ensure the timely realization of reliable, high availability and serviceable products. Participate in the definition of system specifications.Perform trade-off studies to determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed functions to drive agreements with stakeholders.Select the right hardware architecture to facilitate the efficient implementation of the required functionality within an intricate environment with multiple interdependencies.Show technical leadership to assist Electrical Engineers and steer them to use best design practices.Review functional and hardware design documents.Take responsibility for the quality of hardware building blocks.Collaborate with Architects and Designers from cross-functional groups like Mechanical/Mechatronics and Firmware/Software.Education and ExperienceMust have an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters, PhD)Must have at least 10 yrs of industry experience in the relevant discipline.Possesses very strong skills acquired through advanced training, study and experience.Familiar with product compliance standards like IEC62368-1, NFPA70/79, IEC60204, and SEMI S2.Familiar with human safety standards like IEC62061 and SIL levels.Demonstrated ability to work in a process driven team environment.Hands on hardware design experience with analog and digital design solutions; including design requirements, detailed design & review, component selection & evaluation, procurement, design validation, and release.Hands on hardware troubleshooting experience with analog and digital circuit designs at board, module and system level.Experience with engineering test equipment - logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, communication bus analyzers, etc.Experience with Schematic Capture, Simulation and Design Tools like Mentor Graphics Capital and XpeditionAbility to apply knowledge of installation, repair, and troubleshooting at board, module, and system level.Knowledge on change management and version control tools.Ability to write technical specifications, status reports and procedures.Ability to use structured problem solving to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Broad technical knowledge of cabling concepts, connectivity concepts, EMC standards+test methods, electrical safety.Familiarity with SAFe-Agile WoW.Knowledge of PCIe, FPGA, VHDL, PLC, embedded control, and EtherCAT a plus.Skills & CompetenciesMust have Strong knowledge of Analog and Digital circuit design fundamentals.Strong communicator and Team player with quality oriented mindset.Demonstrated ability to simplify problem statement for a broad audience.Strong technical presentation skills with an audience mix of technical & non-technical background.Takes ownership and is decisive.Demonstrated high level of accountability, responsibility and technical competence.Must be task focused and have a results oriented attitude and approach to the job responsibilities.Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.Can learn and apply new information or skills.Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism.Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads.Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability.Identifies bottlenecks and drives improvements.Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and customer.Work according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelines.Other InformationThis position is located in San Diego and works on a hybrid schedule; 3 day onsite, 2 days remote.Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
