find you a job! Histology job opportunity in San Diego, CA! The
schedule for this opportunity is Tuesday - Saturday 12:00 pm - 8:30
pm. Working under general direction to precisely and accurately
conduct a variety of routine and specialized histology procedures.
Researching, troubleshooting, and resolving histology related
inquiries and problems within the laboratory. This position
requires you to produce the highest quality of microtomy, tissue
grossing, tissue processing, and H&E staining, and equipment
maintenance Preparing microscopic slides on human tissue for
research/diagnostic purposes, including processing, embedding,
microtomy, and mounting to include paraffin processed tissue
Quality control and quality assurance procedures Slide
organization, prepares and maintains all necessary reagents,
including stains, alcohols, and paraffins according to proper
specifications Processing specimen accessioning to include all
manual and computerized data entry Performing routine and
non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for
microscopic evaluation by a pathologist(s) according to established
SOP’s Performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment in
designated area. This includes cleaning equipment, minor
troubleshooting and reporting any irregularities in operation to
supervisor/manager EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s or
Associate’s degree in science highly preferred Certification: HT
(ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) required At least 2 years of experience in
high complexity clinical laboratory testing, preferably in
molecular diagnostics Ability to confidently and rapidly cut and
mount high quality tissue sections from a variety of tissue types
including needle biopsies Maintains continuing education units
required by California Department of Health Services Must be
meticulous and detail oriented Experience managing people a plus
Experience with all major brands of histology equipment a plus. Pay
